Brisbane Lions have re-signed five youngsters, including Daniel Rich and Matthew Leuenberger, but big man Mitch Clark's future beyond 2011 remains unclear.

Both Western Australians, 2009 Rising Star winner Rich and Leuenberger had been linked with potential returns to their home state.

But the pair have re-committed to the struggling Lions for at least another two seasons along with Tasmanian Ryan Harwood, while Victorian Patrick Karnezis and South Aussie Jared Polec have signed one-year extensions.

But while Rich and Leuenberger have inked new deals that like the other three tie them to the club until the end of 2013, there remains no resolution to where Clark will be after this season.

The Lions might be battling in 15th place on the AFL ladder with just three wins so far in 2011 but both Rich and Leuenberger believe the club has a bright future.

'We've got a good, young team that if we can all stick together and work hard, success will come,' Rich said.

'The club's moving ahead, not only in footy, but in other areas as well.'

'Brisbane is where I want to be. It's a great city and I'm confident I can get the most out of my football here.'

'I can see a lot of promising signs within this footy club,' Leuenberger said.

'We've got some really good young kids and I can sense that, with what Vossy's (coach Michael Voss) doing and the way he's got the group going forward, I don't think we can help ourselves but be successful in the near future.'

'To me, that's exciting (and) it's something I want to be a part of.'
