Geelong livewire Steve Johnson has been ruled out of Geelong's side with a hip injury ahead of this afternoon's much-anticipated clash with St Kilda at Docklands.

Johnson has been a stand-out for the Cats this season and his omission will come as a relief to the Saints who have no obvious opponent to match-up with the wily forward.

Simon Hogan will play only his second AFL game as Johnson's replacement. St Kilda's side is unchanged.

Both sides are undefeated in the first 13 rounds this season, setting up a mouth-watering contest for outright lead of the competition.

Geelong, the 2007 premiers, go into the match as favourites after winning 55 of its last 58 matches.
