Adelaide Crows midfielders Nathan van Berlo and David Mackay will be given a chance to play in Friday night's AFL elimination final against Essendon at Football Park.

Van Berlo had limited game time against Carlton after straining his back, while Mackay has an ankle complaint.

The Crows are also hoping All-Australian defender Nathan Bock's fractured heel will recover in time.

Crows ruckman Ivan Maric says Adelaide is well equipped to counter Essendon's quick-running game plan.

"What's been good about the last couple of weeks is teams have tried to do that against us and we've handled that pretty well," he said.

"West Coast said they wanted to do that against us and Carlton, so I think that's the way they're (Essendon) going to play."
