Inter Milan's match at Roma on Saturday has been postponed until Sunday due to a rare snowstorm in the capital.

It began snowing near midday Friday in Rome and the cobblestone streets in the capital were covered with slush, prompting the local police chief to delay the match by 24 hours.

Saturday's other match, Cesena vs Catania, was also postponed, with 60 centimetres of snow having fallen at the Dino Manuzzi Stadium.

There have now been six games postponed this week due to the snowstorm in central and northern Italy.

Juventus' game at Parma on Tuesday was postponed because of snow, as were three of Wednesday's games; Atalanta vs Genoa, Bologna vs Fiorentina and Siena vs Catania.

Also, AC Milan's match against Napoli at the San Siro on Sunday has been moved from an 8:45pm start to 3pm to avoid icy conditions at night.

One match that was played amid the snow, Inter vs Palermo on Wednesday, finished in a 4-4 draw.

The Atalanta-Genoa and Parma-Juventus matches have been rescheduled for February 15, Bologna-Fiorentina will now be played February 21 and Siena-Catania has been slated for February 22.

No new date has been announced for Cesena-Catania.
